We have put together an Interactive Tour to recreate the experience of a visit to our school. It’s not quite the same as the real thing, but should help answer many questions you might have about us. We hope you enjoy your tour and we can meet you soon.
We aim to raise levels of achievement in Mathematics and ensure the best is brought out of each student, whatever their level. Increasing appreciation of the subject, enabling the ability to problem-solve and reason mathematically. Events such as Pi Day take the subject beyond the classroom.
We pride ourselves on our broad and balanced curriculum and aim to teach the core subjects such as English in an interesting and engaging way, to get the very best out of each and every student. Themes are covered using reading, classroom discussions and the practical aspect of the spoken and written word. This is carried across subjects such as drama or history to reinforce the theme.
Our studio is a great space with a fantastic array of lighting and props. We also have a large stage in our main Hall for performances such as our annual productions, which are part of our enrichment programme.
Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) offers French and German to all students in Years 7-9 and then to GCSE level. We give students the opportunity to learn in a practical and realistic way, including a French trip offered during the Summer Enrichment week.
We cover an exciting and wide range of Biology, Chemistry and Physics activities across our curriculum, combining the theory and practical sides of Science in KS3, with many students going on to take double and even triple Science to GCSE level.
In Geography, students learn about a variety of places on a local, national and global scale and appreciate that places all over the world are full of contrasts and gain an appreciation of life in other cultures and places.
History fosters a curiosity in, and a passion for the past. In our coverage of the subject, we enable students to create a sense of purpose and place in order to define the past in the context of the present, we encourage our students to make links between the past and present so events today can be evaluated to a high level and discussed with the benefit of hindsight.
Our inspiring, multi-disciplinary art spaces offer students the opportunity to learn and explore many forms of art, from drawing and painting, photography, fashion, sculpture to textiles.
Our Design and Technology (DT) workshops offer a wide range of facilities, covering all practical aspects of this broad subject from laser cutting to the latest cookery techniques.
Whether a student is already established or just setting out in their musical interests, we have something for everyone in our music department. Students are welcomed and offered the opportunity to learn a range of instruments, sing and join a choir or be part of the school production, from Year 7 up to GCSE.
We regularly get out into our natural environment in the School woodland. Taking part in activities within Forest School encourages development of concentration, motivation, motor skills, communication, self-reflection, use of tools, evaluation, decision-making and self-discovery in a safe way. Honing-in on skills such as cooking from scratch; starting with fire making and den building through to cooking their own food.
We offer a wide range of sports to all year groups; whether on our courts, large playing field or in the sports hall or further afield. The sports we cover include badminton, gymnastics, football, netball, rugby and rounders.

A large space for our community to get together, whether for assemblies, drama productions, PE or other events.
A quiet space to facilitate reading but also to think and take some time away from the busy school day. Well-stocked with a variety of books, comfortable seating and an inspiring environment for reflection.
We are proud of our high quality, good value catering which utilises fresh, local produce wherever possible, and accommodates special dietary requirements with our freshly-prepared meals. Food trends and cultural influences are celebrated in our twice-termly Kitchens of the Globe menus, where parents and carers are invited to join students to enjoy one of our many adventurous and interesting meals. Our pupils are adventurous and enjoy many interesting meals with us that they might not try elsewhere.
We pride ourselves on the support we give to each and every one of our students, developing and supporting them, whatever their need; so they can develop in to well-rounded young adults and prepared for the future by the time they leave us.
